The Mill is a welcoming cafe open to all, and also provides information and light-touch therapies to support people affected by life-shortening illness – helping them to live better and more independently with their condition.
The idea is that by working in this way, St Catherine’s is able to help people sooner and empower the community to help themselves and each other. We can also continue our relationship with patients who have been discharged from other hospice services and provide continuity for those who are bereaved.
Meanwhile the café and the room hire opportunities are generating vital funds to be ploughed back into the hospice. It is also hoped the café – which serves everything from coffee and pastries to afternoon tea and full meals – as well as the range of activities which will be hosted there, will attract many new supporters who might not otherwise have known about St Catherine’s.
Working with Roccia was an absolute pleasure, and they were able to fulfil the brief on time and without hassle. The Mill cafe has been such a welcome addition to the site, and Roccia were a great help in getting the project completed.
