Deputy Warehouse manager

The Warehouse DEPUTY MANAGER position is a direct result of ROCCIA growing as a successful business. This position once filled, will allow our business to continue its growth trajectory. The Deputy Warehouse Manager will work closely with the Warehouse Manager in all aspects of the day to day operation of an efficient warehouse. Planning and executing the day’s tasks, as well as specific responsibilities. Including and not exclusively, maintaining Health and Safety Compliance in the workplace, evidence based staff training, staff performance, consolidating deliveries, stock inventory, customer reservations and their accuracy, all going out in a cost effective and timely manner are just some of the requirements.

Partnering with the WAREHOUSE MANAGER to develop and maintain professional and cooperative relationships with ROCCIA’S other Departments, Tile Sales, Bathroom Sales and Kitchen Sales Departments to name some. Making sure all aspects of warehousing duties are carried out in a professional, calm and safe manner. Planning the transportation of customer orders over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles; and loading and unloading orders is another key part of the role.

WAREHOUSE DEPUTY MANAGER

Essential Functions

Our Distribution Centre is an extremely busy Warehouse, an individual with a strong work ethic, a can do attitude in supporting the Warehouse Manager is crucial to the continued success of ROCCIA. After all the Warehouse Team are our last members of staff who our hard earned customers interact with. The Warehouse Deputy Manager will be attributed with specific responsibilities, as mentioned before, including and maintaining Health and Safety Compliance in the workplace, highlight areas of staff training required, document and manage the maintenance of Company Vehicles, property and making sure all aspects of warehousing duties are carried out in a professional, calm and safe manner.

Assists in receiving stock and nonstock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct.
Drives vehicles (e.g. truck, van, forklift, etc.) for the purpose of transporting orders and materials to designated sites.
Loads and unloads delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and/or filling orders for transport.

Maintains delivery vehicles (e.g. checking fluid levels, fuelling, cleaning, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle.

Maintains records (e.g. delivery log, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and providing reliable resource information.

Participates in physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.

Performs all functions within the scope of the warehouse for the purpose of providing warehousing operations. Including Cleans warehouse for the purpose of maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.

Prepares orders by pulling from stock for the purpose of meeting delivery requirements.

Other Functions

Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the warehouse.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include adhering to safety practices; operating equipment used in warehouse operations; operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform and understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Cascade this information to the rest of the team.

Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: basic computer use, basic vehicle maintenance, and Health & Safety Compliance and best practices and procedures are cascaded down to the rest of the Warehouse Team through evidence bases training. ABILITY is required to schedule activities and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others and operate equipment using standardised methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; and utilise job-related equipment. Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working in inclement weather; and physical stamina.

Salary: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
