2019 proved to be another extremely busy and positive year for the team here at ROCCIA – with a whole host of things going on within the business, from award wins to high-profile influencer collaborations and everything in between.
We thought we’d put together a short round-up of everything that we have done throughout 2019, so you can get a flavour of just how successful last year was for everyone associated with ROCCIA!
Collaboration With Charlotte Dawson
Back in May 2019, ROCCIA announced our collaboration with former Celebs Go Dating star and daughter of famous British comedian Les Dawson, Charlotte Dawson. Charlotte approached ROCCIA as she and her partner were in the process of renovating their home, and we’re looking for some truly stunning tiles to complement their entrance hallway.
Charlotte and her partner Matt Sarsfield had spent the first half of 2019 completely renovating their home in Manchester. The project has included a complete refit of every room in the house in order to create a stunning and unique home.
Throughout the process of renovating their home, the pair had been very particular with each piece of furniture they chose made for their home. With a very specific end goal in mind, Charlotte approached the team here at ROCCIA to find out more about the range of Marmorea Fioranese tiles we had in stock, as they felt these particular products would be a perfect fit for the bathroom and entrance hallway in the couple’s home.
Following the initial inquiry, our team of expert personal shoppers assisted the pair throughout their customer journey to ensure their exact requirements were met.

ROCCIA Win Big At The Tile Association Awards
Back in May 2019, we were thrilled to be named the winners of the Best Small Commercial Project for our external wall installation at the Zakria Community and Educational Centre in Dewsbury.
The award-winning project was brought to life using Roccia’s knowledge and expertise of tiles and contains just under 4000 pieces with 32 different shapes, 12 unique shapes and 19 different colours. For this particular project, the team at ROCCIA collaborated with geometric expert Eric Broug and took over a year to complete from designing to installing the final piece. The installation stands at 4m x 9m and is the only one of its kind in Europe.
ROCCIA Named Business Of The Year At BIBAs 2019
After 2018’s success at the BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards), where we came home with the Medium Business of the Year Award, we were keen to reapply in 2019 and win ‘the big one’, Business of the Year, and we only went and won it!
After a rigorous application process, which involved a visit from several business experts who made up the BIBA’s team of judges, we were shortlisted for the highly coveted Business of the Year Award.
The award night was hosted at the glittering Blackpool Tower Ballroom in September, and the evening got into full swing with Jason Donovan entertaining the nominated short-list of businesses from around the North-West.
Zabir Patel, Managing Director here at ROCCIA, said he was delighted to win a BIBA Award for the second year running: “This year marks our 25th Anniversary and we cannot think of a more exciting and fitting way to mark this milestone celebration. The Roccia team are immensely proud to have won this award, especially when we consider the strength of the other regional nominees.
He went on to add, “As the UK’s largest independent tile showroom, we pride ourselves on providing first-class customer service from initial design consultation to final home installation. Attention to detail is something that our customers truly appreciate.”

ROCCIA Roadshow
In the second half of 2019, the team at ROCCIA spent time attending some of the UK’s biggest and most renowned interior design exhibitions. Spending time at both the Homebuilding & Renovating Show and Grand Designs Live events, our specialist team spent time giving a whole host of individuals advice for their home and business renovation projects.
At the events we found ourselves displaying some of the very best luxury branded wall tiles and floor tiles available on the market today, alongside state of the art bathroom and kitchen designs and products to a wide range of customers from across the UK. We tried to encompass a good representation of all the products we stock within our display, from our versatile range of wood effect floor tiles right through to our top of the range built-in Next 125 kitchen and appliances.
The ROCCIA roadshow started off in the heart of the UK’s capital at the ExCeL Centre, then moved onto the Midlands, before taking a pit stop at North Yorkshire’s famous spa town and then finally reaching the finish line at the Northern powerhouse – Manchester.
Each of the exhibitions and events received an incredible response from all of those in attendance. Following the exhibition roadshow, we have seen a whole host of customers travel in to visit our award-winning showroom for a greater insight into how ROCCIA can help them achieve their project’s goals.
