What is surprising to some, however, is the fact that we also stock several well-known brands in furnishings and fixtures. One of these are the Italian bathroom and kitchen experts, Gessi.
Gessi
Founded in 1992 by Umberto Gessi, the company comes from humble roots. Tired of the bathroom and kitchen fittings industry being dominated by historic names, the Gessi family worked tirelessly to inspire change with their innovative vision.
After a successful first year of operations, the original workshop was abandoned in favour of a newer, more modern site in Serravalle Sesia. Although originally planned as a production-only site, Serravalle Sesia quickly became the head office and central hub of all operations, even adding an impressive showroom a couple of years later.
In 2006, Gessi became a global company, establishing commercial branches in various countries on almost every continent. By 2010, renovations made in response to the rapid growth meant that the site had almost doubled in size.
Known for their exclusive and innovative bathroom and kitchen fittings and furnishings, the company has gone from strength to strength, even being awarded Italy’s prestigious Superbrand of the year in 2008.
The ground-breaking business philosophies that Gessi championed quickly developed into an organisation that is now known for its sophisticated, sleek and superior design.
The Production Process
At the core of the Gessi design process is their dedication to quality. Although they now stock internationally, with subsidiaries and offices worldwide from Hong Kong to Los Angeles, every single component used in the manufacturing process is developed at their site in Serravalle Sesia, Italy.
Gessi carry out each production phase in-house, avoiding any reliance on outsourcing or any margin for reduced quality. This allows the company to ensure that each stage of the manufacturing process closely follows best practice business models and conforms with the company’s ‘green’ policy.
The company remains true to its motto – “Made in Italy. Made in Gessi” – representing a genuine and authentic embodiment of their transparent business philosophies. Italian design, beauty and lifestyle is reflected in each of their products, with the roots of the design process focused solely on developing exceptional solutions to real problems.
This is recognised around the world, with Gessi fixtures and fittings appearing in the design of several high profile hotel and restaurant chains.
International Praise and Critical Acclaim
The extraordinary brand has already had an extremely successful year. At the ICFF 2018, the High-End Luxury Furniture Fair, Gessi was met with critical acclaim. Major companies from the world of interior design, including Rockwell Group and Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), visited the first-time stand at the exhibition, expressing a keen interest in the new ranges of tapware and shower accessories.
This show was Gessi’s biggest to date, with the brand taking home the Archiproducts Design Selection and the prize for best booth ICFF Editors Award – Archiproducts even noting that the exhibit was one of the “must-see booths” at the fair.
