Clean Your Cuttings Boards

Wooden cutting boards are a fantastic kitchen utensil. But that said, they’re not exactly the easiest things in the world to keep clean!

A layer of grime tends to build up on their surface in no time, and that’s definitely not something you want! To keep the dirt at bay,  try simply using a little salt and lemon.

First pour a generous helping of salt onto the board and then use the lemon – like a sponge – to wipe off any dirt and residue. Scrape off the lemon mixture, and finally rinse with water and leave to dry – simple! This will leave your cutting board looking and smelling fresh as a daisy!

Think about Your Sink

Lemons aren’t only useful for cleaning your cutting boards; they’re also idea for making your stainless steel sink sparkling clean too. Rubbing a little lemon into your sink will help to remove any stubborn stains, leaving your sink looking bright, shiny and good as new!

Tackle Those Tiles

Want to know the secret to terrific tiles? Well, all it takes is a little baking soda and water. Mix these two ingredients together – by pouring half a cup of baking soda into two gallons of water – and then scrub your kitchen tiles with this mixture using either a mop or sponge – you’ll be surprised  how effective this can be.

Freshen Up Your Fridge

Want to forgo the unpleasant odours in your fridge? Then it’s time to freshen it up a little! After removing the contents of your fridge,  take out the shelves – if possible – and give these a wash and soak in your sink. Then simply wipe  down the inside surfaces with a little water and a multipurpose cleaner.

As a handy tip, once you’ve cleaned the inside of your fridge and put the shelves back in place, try adding a cut up lemon to your fridge to help neutralise any lingering smells.

Oh and if you really hate cleaning then you can also try covering the shelves of your fridge with cling film. This way if any spillages occur you can simply remove the clingfilm and start fresh – with no cleaning required!
